About Us
We are a small cadre of professionals focused on improving the fundraising capacity of charities addressing mental health, addiction and intellectual disabilities. Our programs help selected organizations, their board and staff find the funds they need.
Our two distinctive programs, Workplace Giving and our MHANe Community provide both funding and shared knowledge to those working in this field.
- Workplace giving campaigns help by providing unrestricted funding to qualified charities. MHANe offers a highly efficient system for participating in workplace giving campaigns. However, eligibility requirements limit the number of members we can accept into this program.
- Our MHANe Community creates an online network that generates ideas, best practices and the intellectual resources that can start or boost fundraising plans. The web-based community allows users to post and find grant opportunities, jobs and events among other fundraising focused features. We limit participation in this community to those working in our field so that the discussions remain relevant and valuable.
As we move forward with our members, we seek to develop new revenue sources for qualified service organizations.
Our charity members in both of our programs are assisting adults and children with a wide variety of conditions and challenges. The support spreads further as they assist the family and friends whose lives are also affected. The nonprofit organizations that join MHANe are engaged in:
- Advocacy (national policy, insurance coverage, medication costs)
- Behavioral health programs
- Clinical treatment and rehabilitation
- Fund raising
- Legal rights, protections, housing and jobs for people with mental illnesses and their families
- Patient choice and privacy concerns
- Professional development for those serving the mental health field
- Program development, implementation, evaluation and replication
- Provider continuing education
- Raising public awareness (educational efforts including addressing the issue of stigma)
- Referral network development and support
- Research (genetic, biomedical and neurological aspects of mental illness)
- Rights and legal representation
- Shared research findings among those in the scientific community (best practices and policies)
